Councillor Ian Davey

Elected to the Council in May 2007, Ian is a former IT consultant and has a long record as an environmental campaigner.  He has served as group co-ordinator at Brighton & Hove Friends of the Earth, helped lead the campaign for the city to celebrate car free day in 2001, and currently runs ‘Bike for Life’, a social enterprise which promotes cycling across the city. Ian sits on the Council’s Environment Committee and the Planning Applications sub-committee.

Councillor Keith Taylor

Keith is convenor of the 12-strong Green Group of councillors and has served as a local councillor since 1999. A former businessman, Keith serves on the Council's powerful Policy and Resources committee, which covers finance.  He continues to be closely involved in local community development.  He also serves on the Housing Committee, the Adult Social Care & Health Sub-committee, as well as representing the local Green Group on the Local Government Association (LGA).  Keith has also served as the Principal Speaker of the national Green Party.


 

Councillor Pete West

Pete was Brighton’s first Green Party councillor, representing St Peter’s Ward from 1996 to 2003.  He was re-elected to the Council in May 2007 to represent the enlarged St Peters & North Laine Ward.  Sussex born, Pete is a father of two young children.  He trained and worked as a telecoms development engineer and received a First Class degree in Electronic Engineering and Masters in Engineering with Business Management from Brighton University.  With strong local government experience behind him, Pete now sits on the Council’s Licensing Committee, Finance Management sub-Committee, and is spokesperson for Culture, Recreation, Tourism and the South Downs on the CRT committee.  Pete has a long association with Brighton & Hove and runs his own small property maintenance business.
