Monthly General Meetings
Our monthly general meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month in central Brighton.
General meetings are the decision-making body of the Green Party in Brighton and Hove. All members are welcome to attend these meetings where the latest political and community issues are discussed and expert presentations are given on a wide range of environmental and social topics.

2 August - Pride in Brighton & Hove - leading outdoor festival which promotes equality and diversity, and advances education to eliminate discrimination against the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (lgbt) community. Festival in Preston Park on Saturday 2 August. Pride Parade starts 11am Maderia Drive.

Tuesday 8 July 2008 - Greenspeak presents: why bother? ...why get involved, how to do it and what's the point?

24, 25, 26 June 2008 - Take an eco-coach to Glastonbury 2008
Brighton Peace and Environment Centre is offering a coach service to the world famous Glastonbury Festival.
This year they've teamed up with Brighton's Big Lemon eco-bus company to offer services with low emissions or fuelled by 100% locally sourced, recycled vegetable oil.
The coaches travel direct from Brighton and offer a friendly, safe, reliable, speedy, eco-friendly alternative to going by car.
Coaches leave at 10am on 24, 25 & 26 June and also at 2pm on 26 June. return coaches at 7pm on 29 June and throughout the day on 30 June.

10 June 2008 Greenspeak: Whose land is it anyway?
...reconnecting land with people and communities - 7.00 for 7.30pm start at the Old Market, Upper Market Street, Hove, with socialising before and after.

9 June 2008 - Another London Road - Tescopoly author talks to brighton meeting
Andrew Simms, policy director of the award-winning think-tank, the New Economics Foundation (NEF) and author of ‘Tescopoly - how one shop came out on top and why it matters' is to speak at Another London Road, a public meeting in Brighton.
The meeting - organised by councillor Keith Taylor - will be at 7:30pm on Monday 9 June at the newly renovated Calvary Church, Viaduct road, Brighton (next to the fire station).
The meeting is free and the venue is fully accessible, and people are recommended to arrive early to ensure a place.

26 February 2008 - Save Democracy in Brighton & Hove - public meeting to discuss and plan opposition to the move from a committee system to a cabinet-style system of governance for Brighton & Hove City Council. Friends Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton, Tuesday, 26 February, 7pm.

9 February 2008 - C's the Day - Saturday 9 February, from 10am to 4 pm at the Friends Meeting House, Ship Street.
Brighton and Hove's Green Women Group (not a party-affiliated group) will hold a day dedicated to being healthy, staying healthy and reducing the risk of cancer.
C's the Day is an opportunity to talk to the experts, join a debate, listen to informed ideas about cancer prevention and try out a variety of healing therapies.
The event is free, the only charges will be for the food, but donations would be gratefully received. Green MEP and Brighton Pavilion prospective parliamentary candidate Caroline Lucas will be talking at this event.

21 - 24 September 2006 - Green Party Conference, the Green Party conference comes to Brighton & Hove. More information coming soon, in the meantime please visit the conference page on the national party website.
2 September 2006 - BASS Community Fayre, a day long community fayre held on The Level and powered entirely from renewable energy. The event features community & environmental groups and local artists & crafts people. There will also be films, a kids' space, DJ workshops a stand up cabaret tent and other workshops and talks. The event runs from 11:00am to 7:30pm.
13 August 2006 - Hanover Day 2006, yearly festival for the Hanover area of Brighton. This year's theme is Alice's Adventures in Hanover. The parade starts at 12 noon and the festival finishes at 5pm. See The Hanover Community Association for further information.
