Ill health forces Green councillor to stand down
23 October 2007

Dr Hermoine Roy, one of the two Green Councillors elected to represent Regency ward in the May local elections, has been forced to stand down through ill health.
Commenting, Green Group Convenor Cllr Keith Taylor said:
"All her colleagues in the party were saddened to learn of Dr Roy's ill health and completely understand the need for her to stand down from the council. In the short time she has served on the council she has made a tremendous impact and her expert knowledge of the NHS in particular will be hard to replace. We wish her a speedy recovery.
"This will mean a by-election in Regency ward and Greens will hold a ballot to select a new candidate to stand alongside Cllr Sven Rufus."
