About Anthea Ballam

Anthea Ballam is a writer and journalist. She is currently working on a project to help those interested in adopting a greener, healthier lifestyle in Sussex. She has written several books, pamphlets and chapters of books covering a broad range of topics, from the lives of the Pilgrim Fathers to homeopathy and computing in the humanities. She lists her interests as Sussex, Italy, writing, music and photography.

She briefly chaired the Safety Forum for lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender community before it was dissolved in 2003.

"This is the second time my party has entrusted me to represent it in Hove - it's an opportunity that I cherish. The Green Party offers a genuine alternative to old style politics and has shown, most recently in the European election, that it can attract widespread support.

"At the coming General Election Hove voters will be given a genuine opportunity to show Labour that they thoroughly disapproved of the illegal war in Iraq and a discredited Government that has badly let down the people of Hove."
