About Simon Williams
Simon, 33 works part time in public relations while devoting much of his time to city council duties. He has lived in Brighton since 1997 and has strong family connections to Sussex.
Simon's main political interests are in health, older people's care, community safety and human rights. He represents St Peters & North Laine Ward in central Brighton and is the Green spokesperson on adult social care and health and community safety on Brighton and Hove City Council.
Simon says the forthcoming general election is an opportunity for the people of Brighton and Hove to have their say:
"They are the people who feel left out of politics and the way their country and city is being run. They are the people who want a stronger voice on the important issues facing them but who feel their voice is not being listened to on:
- Brighton's low wage economy and high cost of living
- The Government's piecemeal privatisation of the National Health Service
- The British involvement in the cruel and illegal war and occupation of Iraq
- The threat of climate change
I hope I can offer a fresh vision to represent the people of Brighton Kemp Town constituency."
